Prepare For Pet Travel Early
The British Veterinary Association (BVA) advises pet owners who wish to take their pets abroad to make an appointment with a vet well in advance. Under post-brexit rules, owners must obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) from an authorised vet no more than 10 days before travel to an EU country. AHCS are more complex than pet passports and require longer appointment times.
