Plant garlic and onions for next year. I’ve also been growing perennial “Elephant Garlic”, which is an extraordinary vegetable. You don’t plant this until October or November, but if you leave it in the soil the following year, it’ll clump out and create a thicket of Elephant Garlic. From then on, dig up the largest plants but leave the rest in the soil. They’ll swell up to create a bigger clump, meaning you’ll always have some Elephant Garlic to harvest.
