Memories Of Canada

I was surprised and delighted to see a letter about Fort St John BC, Canada, in the May 8 Between Friends page.

My oldest sister emigrated there after the war.

She married and had her family there.

I went out there in 1961 and stayed for about five or six months, and I worked for a while in the small hospital as a midwife. At that time British nursing certificates were accepted.

Unfortunately, my sister and her husband have since passed away, but my two nephews still live in St John BC. My niece lives in Calgary and we had a lovely holiday there, too.
