Learn to skate for free with new class at Bretton ice rink

-

PLANET Ice in Bretton has announced it is giving new free skating classes for young people aged between 14 and 25 years old.

The three new courses all last for six weeks and are a host of one-hour lessons with a fully qualified coach.

Start To Skate For The Unemployed runs on Tuesdays between 3pm and 4pm from May 15.

Classes for people with learning or development disabilities will be held on Fridays from 6.30pm until 7.30pm from May 18.

Lessons for people who are not covered by either group will also take place on Fridays.

The free classes are financed by £32 million Lottery programme Sportivate, which aims to get young people more interested in sport.

All participants who complete their course, missing no more than one session, and keep playing the sport will be entered into a ballot for free London 2012 tickets.

Belinda Bassett, Peterborough Ice manager, said: “We are delighted to be able to put on free Start To Skate courses.

“As well as providing participants with the chance to win tickets for London 2012, we are proud to announce that everyone who attends five of the six sessions will be given free skating vouchers and discounts on our more advanced learn to skate courses.”

Planet Ice is in Mallard Road, Bretton, Peterborough.
