Not my best friend

RE: Boy, 14, victim of vicious dog attack, 4 May

Dog owners seem to think that the rest of the world shares their fascination with carnivorous animals. Newsflash doggy owners - we don’t. They’re dirty, smelly, they dribble, they bite, they snarl, they lick you whether you like it or not, they bark all day and all night, I could go on. I’m all for working dogs, but the rest? No need. Try humans instead, they’re much better company (although I admit a human companion doesn’t act as substitute genitals like Staffies do).

A lethal combo

“HE would never harm anybody”, “”Not the dog’s fault”, blah, blah, blah yet another pit bull savages kid incident and there will be more until the breed is made illegal. All dogs can turn bad but very few can do the damage these types do and the fact that the vast majority of staffiepit bull owners are no more intelligent than the dog is makes for a nasty and dangerous combo.

In deep water

RE: Video: Flood warning in place as rain continues, 4 May

Hope the idiot motorists who were ignoring the Road Closed signs will NOT be calling the emergency services when their cars get stuck or end up in the river - they have far more important things and more needy people to help out! All for the sake of a few extra miles/minutes on their journey!

Well done Asda

RE: Marc ASDA be Peterborough’s politest man

Marc actually served me on Thursday and to receive this award is fantastic for him. His quality of customer service is second to none. Well done Marc!

ASHAMED

PETERBROUGH RESIDENT

Congratulations to the Peterborough branch of Asda. I’m an infrequent shopper there because its location doesn’t particularly suit me, but on each occasion I’ve found staff to be friendly and helpful.

BEARRABBIT

It’s nice to see a shop assistant get recognised for the job they do. They have to put up with sceaming kids, grumpy abusive people. We should all be more appreciative of these people.
