Royal Mail announce delivery office change

ROYAL Mail bosses have announced that Ramsey Delivery Office will be relocating to Huntingdon later this month.

The announceme­nt was made yesterday that the office in Whytefield Road, Ramsey, will close and staff move to the Huntingdon Delivery Office, in St Peters Road, Huntingdon on Monday, May 21.

The firm has said that there will not be any compulsory redundanci­es made as a result of the move and staff will be reimbursed for any extra mileage incurred as a result of the change in their place of work.

Royal Mail’s collection and delivery sector manager, Duncan Stephenson said: “We have been talking to our people about the move, as we must modernise our operations.

“The relocation of Ramsey is part of this, allowing us to place the business on a sound, secure and stable footing. Our service to customers will continue to be a top priority during these changes.

“Customers can be reassured that we will do all we can to minimise disruption and ensure we maintain the high level of service they expect and deserve from Royal Mail.”

Ramsey customers who are notified they have an item to collect will be able to collect it from Ramsey Post Office, in Whytefield Road, free of charge which is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Mondays, 9am to 5.30pm Tuesdays to Fridays and 9am to 3pm on Saturdays.

Customers with PO Boxes or custom charges to pay will need to go to Huntingdon delivery office whose opening hours are 8am to 1pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 8am to 8pm on Wednesdays and 8am to noon on Saturdays.
