Hannah heads the late winner as Bourne reach final

-

BOURNE Ladies booked their place in a first-ever cup final in some style.

They eased into the Fenland Ladies League Cup showpiece by sinking unbeaten league champions Wisbech St Mary at Recreation Road, coming from behind to bag a 2-1 victory.

Bourne conceded early in the second half but Sophie Fisher soon fired them level when drilling a fierce shot into the roof of the net.

They then missed a golden chance to hit the front when top-scorer Lotti Christie crashed a penalty against the crossbar but Hannah Goold ensured they advanced when heading a late winner after being picked out by Becca Burton’s free-kick.

Bourne’s reward is a final date against Outwell which is scheduled for tonight but the venue is yet to be confirmed. a second-half collapse. They had led 3-0 at the interval thanks to a Sarah Ketteringham hat-trick.

NETHERTON Diamonds Under 13s were left to rue a missed spotkick as they suffered a 4-2 defeat in their final Mid-shires League game of the season.

The city aces trailed 3-0 at Corby Gems Emeralds before roaring back into the contest thanks to goals from Olivia Nunziata and Courtney Coles.

They then missed a spot-kick which would have pulled them level before the home team struck again to seal the points.
