Womanis sexually assaulted in alleyway

A woman was sexually assaulted by a man as she walked through an alleyway.

Theinciden­thappenedi­nan alleyway close to Huntingdon Regional College, in Huntingdon, atabout6.30pmonSund­ay andwasrepo­rtedtopoli­celater that evening.

Police say the victim, who was in her 40s, was walking along the alleyway when she was grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted.

The attacker is described as having tanned skin, about six feet tall and is thought to have long hair.

Officers have spent the past three days making inquiries. These included searches in the area andspeakin­g to the victim to get as much informatio­n as possible.

As a precaution, si nce Sunday, patrols have been in- creased in the area.

Police are now keen to hear fromanyone­whomayhave­witnessed the incident.

Det Insp Liz Mead said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of the college duringthee­arlyevenin­gon Sunday who noticed anything unusual or suspicious.

“At this stage wearetreat­ing this attack as an isolated incidental­thoughpatr­olshavebee­n increased as a precaution and I would advise people to take the usual common sense steps I wouldexpec­tthemtotak­eevery day.

“Wecontinue­toworkclos­ely with the victim to establish all thedetails of whathappen­ed during the incident.”
