Womanis sexually assaulted in alleyway
A woman was sexually assaulted by a man as she walked through an alleyway.
Theincidenthappenedinan alleyway close to Huntingdon Regional College, in Huntingdon, atabout6.30pmonSunday andwasreportedtopolicelater that evening.
Police say the victim, who was in her 40s, was walking along the alleyway when she was grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted.
The attacker is described as having tanned skin, about six feet tall and is thought to have long hair.
Officers have spent the past three days making inquiries. These included searches in the area andspeaking to the victim to get as much information as possible.
As a precaution, si nce Sunday, patrols have been in- creased in the area.
Police are now keen to hear fromanyonewhomayhavewitnessed the incident.
Det Insp Liz Mead said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of the college duringtheearlyeveningon Sunday who noticed anything unusual or suspicious.
“At this stage wearetreating this attack as an isolated incidentalthoughpatrolshavebeen increased as a precaution and I would advise people to take the usual common sense steps I wouldexpectthemtotakeevery day.
“Wecontinuetoworkclosely with the victim to establish all thedetails of whathappened during the incident.”
