Posh boss Darren Ferguson is confident his bottom of the table team can pull off one of the shocks of the Championship season by beating high- flying Leicester City in Saturday’s clash at London Road.

Posh manager Darren Ferguson is confident his side can deliver one of the shocks of the Championship season by beating Leicester at London Road on Saturday.

The Foxes are the form side in the division having won their last five matches and they are likely to be backed by 5,000 travelling fans.

But bottom- of- the- table Posh don’t have to look too far back to find a reason to be positive.

“We beat them here last season,” Ferguson recalled. “And we beat them when we were both challenging for promotion in League One a few years back.

“I do think Leicester are the best foot balling side in the division and they’re coming here in great form, but we have proved we can beat them so we can play with some confidence.

“It’s a game to look forward to at any time of the season. It will be a big crowd and we will have a go at them.”

Fergus on will not make his team selection public before the day of the game, but he is expected to stick with three centre- backs.

Posh improved last weekend when switching to 4- 4- 2 in the second- half of the draw against Burnley, but Ferguson added:“I like the three centreback system. It suits the players we have.

“We did better when we changed to 4- 4- 2 last week, but I’d rather switch to that way of playing rather than start with it.”
