Two more companies have signed up for the NSPCC and Peterborough Telegraph 2500 Club.

Peterborough and Stamford- based solicitors firm Buckles have pledged to support the charitable drive in 2013.

Rawlinsons Chartered Accountants have also stepped forward to aid our unique fundraising challenge

The 2500 Club aims to raise £ 50,000 to support the running of local NSPCC services in Peterborough, by asking local businesses to sign up and commit to raising £ 2,500 for the NSPCC.

This could be done by holding a fundraising event at work, hosting a quiz night, signing up to payroll giving or joining an existing NSPCC event.

The charity has had a presence in Peterborough for the past 120 years, and in 2011 the local NSPCC Peterborough Service Centre opened to bring help and support to children most at risk in the city

Bourges Boulevard firm Buckles provides solutions to the legal needs of corporate, commercial and private clients regionally, nationally and internationally.

The firm had a successful 2012 raising money for Sue Ryder Care, and business development director Natasha Maycock said: “Our charity committee picks a different cause to support every year.

“Last year we raised£ 3,500 for Sue Ryder, and we will be trying to at least match that this year.”

The company has a schedule of fundraisers planned for 2013, including a ‘ paper-planes’ themed planning day later this month.

There is also a staff baby photos quiz in March, a green cake day in May, a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in September, and Halloween and Christmas events at the end of the year.

Buckles and Rawlinsons join e Business solutions company Data Interchange, who pledged their support in November.

We will be featuring Rawlinsons, and any other new supporters, in an upcoming piece. We will also be highlighting how the money raised will support vulnerable children and families.
