Providing the right care for you at home

-

Finding the right kind of at home care for you or your loved ones just got easier. Bluebird Care, the UK’s leading provider of care in your own home, priding itself onworking with customers and their families to offer a bespoke excellent quality service and are now providing this service to customers throughout Peterborough.

Opened by local couple Tim Carey and Leisa MacKenzie in 2011, the company, offers a unique service of tailored care visits with calls ranging from a 15 minute welfare check to full 24 hour live in support.

The couple began the business after looking for both respite and palliative care for their own families.

“We’ve both experienced the trauma of trying to find the right level of care for relatives,” says, company direc- tor, Tim Carey, 41.

“Three years ago, I broke my neck in an accident, I was lucky - thanks to dedicated staff at Adden brooke’s Hospital – I’ve made a full recovery.

“But for many weeks afterwards I needed a lot of help at home, and we struggled to find the right kind of care, at the right level, anywhere.”

It was that experience that led the couple to open Bluebird Care. Their office is based in Stamford, and will provide at- home care for customers in Peterborough, Stamford, Oakham, Uppingham, and surrounding villages.

“For many people, the questions about care don’t arise until, suddenly, there is a need. And most of us think that there is astark choice between living self- sufficiently, without care, or going to a residential home.

However, we are proud to be able to deliver a service that allows our customer to live full, interesting lives and still stay within the comfort of their own home and with the safety and peace of mind of their own front door. And to the highest standards, put simply, with good old fashioned service.”

Each care package is bespoke and individual to the customers. To ensure the highest quality service, a Care Supervisor visits every customer to fully discuss and gain an understanding of the level of care they need and want and what personal pref- erences and wishes they have in being supported.

Care at home doesn’t just mean helping people to get up or go to bed, but can also include shopping, companionship services and day trips to help maintain an independent enriched life.

“Today it is common for people to stay in their own home for as long as possible,” said Care Manager, Julie Mair.

“Our high quality services can help them to achieve this. We know that each customer has different needs and we always ensure their care pack-age reflects that. We believe in treating each customer with courtesy, dignity and recognising their own likes and dislikes. This ensures our customers get the care they ask for. ”

“No care package is the same because no two people are the same.”

“Our customers have a wide range of requirements. Somemaybeolder; less physically able to manage day to day chores, whilst other customer needs may be more complex and require a full care and support package. We pride ourselves on having a positive impact on the care we provide all our customers. We provide care for everyone. People who have learning or physical disabilities, short term respite and post- operative support and, of course, care for older people – all are able to receive specialist and professional care.”

The company is CQC registered and is a member of theUKHCA. AllBluebirdCare Carers are fully trained, are CRBchecked and undertake NVQLevel 2 in Healthand Social Care.
