X Factor’s Olly on the way to city
Olly Murs is set to perform a massive outdoor concert in Peterborough this summer.
The X Factor runner- up from 20009 will be appearing at the Embankment on June 2.
Singer- songwriter Olly Murs’ double- platinum- selling debut album, reached Number 2 in the UK Album Chart upon release in 2010, and secured two top tive places in the UK Singles Chart.
Subsequent hits followed including the number 1 singles Heart Skips A Beat and Dance With Me Tonight from Olly’s second album, In Case You Didn’t Know, which hit the number 1 spot in the UK Album Chart and marked a progression of his distinctive sound towards a modern example of old- school, classic Soul and rock’n’ roll.
Olly’s third and most recent album, Right Place Right Time became the fastest selling male solo album of 2012 in the UK and went straight to number 1 in the UK Album Chart, with the lead single Troublemaker reaching the number 1 spot in the UK Singles Chart, meaning Olly held the top spot in both charts at the same time
Army of Two, his eagerly awaited second single from the latest album, will be out on March 10
Concert spokesperson Dion Clements said “We’re ecstatic to announce Olly Murs is coming to Peterborough’s Embankment to perform his big outdoor summer show.
“Some of his biggest fans come from this area so we just hope there will beenough tickets to meet demand!
