Captain Jeff Glowa insists Phantoms must keep their feet on the gas to remain masters of their own English Premier League destiny. Phantoms are on a high after finally claiming a first fourpoint weekend of the season - results which strengthened their grip on the final play- off spot.

But Glow a insists they can’t afford to follow the big step forward provided by successes over Milton Keynes Lighting and Sheffield Steeldogs with a step back.

“There was no better time to get our first four- point weekend than last Saturday and Sunday,” said Glowa. “We proved we can handle the pressure of performing in big games and wecan be proud of the results.

“We showed at MK that we don’t give up even when we are down. We have stacks of character and that is something I really like about our team.

“Now we have to kick on fromthatfour- pointweekend.

“You don’t want to be a in a position where you are relying on the results of other teams at this stage of the season.

“We are in charge of our own destiny and we have to continue to pick up points on a regular basis to make sure that remains the case.”

Phantoms face a testing weekend as they go to Swindon on Saturday( 5.45pm) aheadof a home date against Manchester on Sunday ( 5.30pm).

Glow a added:“They are going to be two hard games, but youe xpect that in a league full of quality teams.

“Swindon is always a tough place to go and they’ve been blowing out teams in the last few weeks. We won there earlier in the season though and we proved again last weekend at Milton Keynes that we can get the job done on the road.

“Manchester are a big club at this level but we know that we can go toe- to- toe with them. We beat them down here on penalty shots and got a great win at their place a few weeks ago.”

Manchester will be minus their legendary player- coach Tony Hand on Sunday due to his involvement with the Great Britain squad.
