Posh have finally got the balance right between football and fight.

That’s the opinion of centreback Gaby Zakuani who has been impressed with how his team has come through a hectice run of matches.

Zakuani echoed his manager by expressing disappointment at three successive draws and a continued place in the Championship’s bottom three.

But he has also seen the qualities Posh will require to ensure Championship football for a third straight season, something the club have nev- er achieved in their Football League history.

“We are disappointed with all three draws to be honest,” Zakuani stated.

“But there is also no doubt in my mind that we would have lost all three games earlier in the season.

“We came from behind to get a draw against Charlton, we battled hard without playing well against Ipswich and we withstood the tension and atmosphere at Leeds to get a point which was the least we deserved.

“I never thought I would ever be disappointed with a point from a trip to Ell and Road, but I was the other night.

“We played some great football, but also dug in when we were under pressure. Leeds had a lot of the ball at times, but didn’t create too much.

“And they are the qualities we will need in the last nine games. We’ve become harder to beat, but we haven’t sacrificed our passing game.

“The manager would never allow that and it will be the same at Blackpool even though they play on a bad pitch.

“We’ve shown we can fight for points now and we are very confident that we can still get out of trouble.

“The bottom half of the table is ridiculously close so there are plenty of teams we can catch if we keep playing as well as we did at Leeds.

“Blackpool will be big and strong, but our manager will come up with another great game plan that will give us a chance of getting a big win.”
