Ware is the hero as Voyager close in on a county cup final

Junior football - Hampton and Alconbury reach Under 12 League Cup final

by Ware hit the all-important goal as the Junior Alliance League Division Two team overcame Guilsborou­gh 1-0 to progress to the last four.

They will now face either Ise Lodge or Burton Park Wanderers at home on March 29 for a place in the final.

Division One boys Peterborou­gh Northern Star Blue failed in their bid to make the semis. They were beaten 3-0 at Wellingbor­ough.

Under 14 Division One pacesetter­s Deeping were meanwhile preserving their 100 per cent record against Glinton and Northborou­gh Amber.

But they had to work much harder than normal for their 14th consecutiv­e victory, edging home 3-2 with goals by Harrison Dee, Kai HaggettKin­g and Alexander Moroz.

In Under 14 Division Three there was a remarkable 6-6 draw between Riverside Blue and Thorpe Wood Red.

A lad with the famous footballin­g name - Bobby Moore - hit a hat-trick for Riverside while Jacob Hoffmann and Filip Czerwonka fired doubles for Thorpe Wood.

The top three in the Under 13 9v9 division all enjoyed comfortabl­e wins.

Table- toppers Deeping Claret saw off Thurlby 3-0 with strikes by Daniel Malcolmson, James Russell and Owen Jacobs to maintain their three-point lead over Northern Star.

Star, who have two games i n hand on t he l eaders, crushed Feeder Soccer 10-1 and Nathan Rudman helped himself to five goals to take his tally for the season to a staggering 58 from 15 games.

Third-placed Netherton beat March Soccer School 4-1.

March Rangers main- tained their title push in Under 13 Division Three with an 8-0 win against Werrington. Fyn Smith led the way for them with a treble.

Hampton Blue and Alconbury will battle it out in the Under 12 League Cup final.

Goals from Reece Campbell (2), Rio Smith and Lemar Moore earned Hampton a comfortabl­e 4-1 win over Feeder in their semi-final while Alconbury edged past Wisbech St Mary 3-2 thanks to goals from Connor O’Donovan (2) and Cameron Radwell.

There was a rare loss for Arsenal Soccer School Yellow at Under 12 level. The Division One leaders were pipped 2-1 by Holbeach Yellow, who had Jordan Elston on target twice.

It wasn’t a great day for the Arsenal Soccer School at Under 11 level either.

They were hammered 5-0 by Deeping Blue in a League Cup semi-final. Harry Barbsy scored a hat-trick for Deeping with Archie Rickards and Samuel Browning also on the scoresheet.

Werrington Blue Under 12s reached the quarter-finals of the Northants County Cup by beating Stanwick Rovers 3-0 thanks to goals by James Cooper, Samuel Gardiner and William Hawkins.
