Shock at quarry death of dad

Tributes have been paid to a grandfather who was killed in an industrial incident at a quarry.
Richard Marjoram was killed in an incident involving an HGV lorry at Stainby Quarry in Crabtree Road near Colsterworth in Lincolnshire.
The incident happened just after 11am on Monday, July 3.
Mr Marjoram (57) lived at Deeping St Nicholas, near Stamford, and police said he was an employee at the quarry.
He was declared dead at the scene after suffering the fatal injuries. Mr Marjoram’s son, Ben, led the tributes to his father, and said the family were in shock following the accident. Ben said: “We are deeply shocked and upset at the death of my father, who was a very special husband to mum and also a fantastic father and much loved grandfather.
“Words cannot describe how much we will miss him.”
A joint investigation into the accident is now being carried out by Lincolnshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive. A Lincolnshire police spokesperson said they had been called to the incident at the quarry on Monday morning. The spokesman said: “We received a report at just after 11am of an industrial accident involving an HGV and a 57-year-old man, who was an employee at the quarry.
“The man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The police spokesman said there had been no road closures as a result of the tragic incident. Richard Marjoram
