Bang-in-form Bourne will have their progress tested by the best team in the Lincs Premier Division on Saturday (Abbey Lawns, noon) Bracebridge Heath are wellplaced to claim a third straight title, but they will be challenged by a Bourne side who won for the eighth completed match in a row last weekend.

Only a tardy start to the season has stopped Bourne challenging more closely at the top. They lost their first two games, including one at Bracebridge.

“We’re full of confidence and playing the top side will show how far we’ve come,” Bourne skipper Pete Morgan stated.

Bourne made light work of Sleaford’s 171-9 last weekend, reaching their target with seven wickets in hand.

Market Deeping and Spalding look set to be involved in a relegation battle at the other end of the table.

The pair met at Outgang Road last weekend with Deeping emerging from a tight scrap with a last-over threewicket win.

Jamie Morgan (76no from 56 balls) saw Deeping home with a couple of balls to spare - a result that lifts them out of the bottom two.

Deeping have a tough game at Woodhall Spa on Saturday, when bottom club Spalding make the long haul to Grimsby.

There’s a big game in Cambs Division One on Saturday when top two Ketton and Wisbech clash at Pit Lane.

Ketton preserved their perfect record with a two-wicket success at home to Foxton last weekend thanks to an unbroken ninth-wicket stand of 47 dominated by Zeeshan Manzoor (58no).

The local derby in Division Two at Ufford Park was won by the home side over Castor thanks to a terrific innings of 87 not out from Joe Harrington.

Harrington had only scored 37 Cambs League runs this summer before striding to the crease with Ufford struggling on 18-3 chasing 192-7.

He struck four sixes and 11 fours.

Both sides remain in the thick of the promotion battle in a most competitive division. Castor’s Joe Higgins was caught and bowled by Tanvir Hussain of Ufford Park after playing this shot.
