Young Winston delivers the round of his life

Twelve-year-old Winston Childs delivered the round of his life when he beat over 100 fellow entrants to win the Moore Stephens Trophy at Greetham Valley last weekend.

Young Winston finished with a nett 62 off his 19 handicap.

Ladies winner was ninehandic­apper Kay Ropson with a nett 61 which included an eagle on the long par five fifth.

Greetham senior Neil Crees won an open competitio­n at Brunstfiel­d Links near Edinburgh despite driving out of bounds on the first hole to rack up a triple bogey.

Crees recovered to finish with a nett 65 off a seven handicap.

Milton Ladies members have enjoyed some close competitio­ns recently.

Tracy Brown won the weekend July Medal on countback from Emily Horstead after both shot nett 68s and Carol Dunn also beat Elaine Mankelow on countback in the Past Captains Salver after both players scored 39 stableford points.
