No break given to Parkway

-

Court Gimme A Break were big winners in the Peterborough World Rules Jet sponsored Wednesday League this week.

They visited Parkway for the featured You-tube live streamed match and emerged handsome 11-4 winners.

They took the first five frames in a row before Reg Miller halted the slide briefly.

But four frames later it was all over as Beckie Watkins won the 10th.

Postie YoYo’s were also 11-4 winners when they entertained Borough Boys with Perry Saunders securing the team spoils in the 10th frame.

The Court Young Un’s took on the Court Jesters and the first session ended in favour of the Jesters with Steve Singh completing a ‘break & dish’ in the fifth.

Andy Cook levelled it up for the Young Un’s in the sixth but any ideas they had of it being a close match, quickly evaporated when the Jesters raced ahead by taking the next six in a row and along with it the team win being confirmed in the 11th by Darren Hope.

Mitchel Garner and Ivan Knight took two consolation frames in the final session as it ended 10-5 to the Jesters.

In another all-Court affair, At The Bar lost 10-5 to Snapbacks.

The highlights of the first session were the ‘break & dish’ frames by Snapbacks pair Sean Hackett and Jamie Stokes. But despite that, going into the middle session Court At The Bar were only a single frame down.

The Snapbacks went up another gear by taking the next four frames in a row leaving them needing only one more frame to take the match.

Tyler Fitter did pull another frame back for At The Bar but almost inevitably, the Snapbacks were soon on the charge once again and took three of the last five frames with Hackett confirming the team win in the 11th.

In the night’s other game PSL Ain’t Going Down were beaten 9-6 at home by Court In The Act, for whom Chris Page won the match in the 13th frame.
