Well played the England international footballer for exposing the sheer incompetence and ignorance of those running the FA. The blustering buffoonery of chairman Greg Clarke, the hopelessness of chief executive Martin Glenn and the mischief-making of technical director Dan Ashworth should see all three sacked. Netherton FC celebrated their 25th anniversary this season. There are older clubs in the city, but none boast such impressive credentials and offer so much to their community. I disclose a personal interest here as I experienced and enjoyed some great Sunday morning seasons with the club. I still have many friends there including the legend that is Ron Seddon (above).
I have little interest in clubs who throw money at players who change clubs for an extra fiver at the drop of a hat.
I am greatly impressed though by clubs who offer football at great facilities for ages 5-80ish of all standards for both sexes. Football is even on offer for those who prefer to walk rather than run. Anyone looking for a club to join should look no further than the Grange.
TALE OF WOE FOR MILLER
To no-one’s surprise those in charge found it far easier to ban a League Two footballer for deceiving an official than a Premier League player. While Watford’s Brazilian talent Richarlison escaped scot free for the tumble that won a penalty against Arsenal, Carlisle’s Shaun Miller was banned for two games for his hopeless piece of simulation against Wycombe. Miller (above) deserved his punishment, but anyone who believes Richarlison was justified in going down for the slightest of contacts is a fool.
OH DEAR, NEVER MIND JOSE
Oh dear Jose. Your team is now so used to defending they forgot how to attack and create chances when falling 2-0 down at Huddersfield. Never mind.
