Disgusted Darragh puts up £1,000 reward
Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony was quick to voice his disgust at the abuse hurled at Grant McCann’s family following the 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe on Saturday.
As soon as reports surfaced that the wife and three young sons of the Posh manager had been abused by so-called ‘fans’ after the final whistle, MacAnthony sprang into action.
He took to Twitter to put up a £1,000 reward for information leading to the identification of the ‘fans’ who dished out the abuse.
McCann’s wife Kelly and her children were sat with the majority of Posh fans at one end of the pitch.
She has given a description of her abusers.
MacAnthony, who was at the game, tweeted: “A £1,000 reward to the first Posh fan who can send me name of fan/fans abusing that young lady/her kids today via phil@ theposh.com please.
“When I find out the culprits there will be consequences for them. Disgusting behaviour!”
Grant McCann respectfully declined the opportunity to comment.
At the time of going to press, nobody had come forward with any information regarding the incident.
