The Peterborough Evening Telegraph
Badges exchanged in the parlour
Members of the local Breathe Easy Support Group visited the Mayor’s Parlour for tea and cake, as well as a potted history of the Town Hall and its past Mayors.
They joined the Mayor of Peterborough, Councillor John Fox with the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Chris Ash and Deputy Mayoress Doreen Roberts.
The Mayor talked about his role and experience as the city’s First Citizen and how community cohesion is a top priority for him which is why he is using the anchor symbol to promote communities working together, and how he has introduced an anchor lapel badge which he handed out to all in attendance.
In exchange, members of the city’s Breathe Easy Group, which is part of the British Lung Foundation handed out their lung lapel badges.
Peterborough’s branch meets on the second Thursday of every month from 2-4pm at the Thomas Walker Medical Centre, in Princess Street. Guest speakers give talks on a wide variety of topics that captivate and inform.
There is always a raffle and chatting, whilst enjoying a cuppa.
Anyone interested in joining can contact Geoff Barnett on 01733 578752.
