Employment boost follows ‘Best in Europe’ award triumph
Fifty jobs are being created at an international award-winning contact centre in Peterborough.
The recruitment for insurance company BGL Group’s centre in Bretton comes shortly after its customer services business was named the best in Europe.
BGL Customer Services won a gold award for Large Contact Centre of the Year at the European Contact Centre and Customer Service Awards held in London.
The team also collected a silver award for best omnichannel experience.
The customer services team overcame entries from companies in Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine.
The Bretton contact centre currently employs 490 people.
The latest recruitment comes just over three months after the BGL Group, of Bakewell Road, Orton Southgate, which employs 1,800 people in Peterborough, said it was looking to fill 104 vacancies in the city.
Nicola Sumner, customer operations director, said: “I’m thrilled our contact centres have been recognised as the best in Europe. The judges recognised the energy we have put in to constantly evolving and improving our customer journeys.
“We’d encourage anyone who’s passionate about customer service and looking for a new challenge to take a look at the opportunities available at our award-winning contact centre. With 50 roles on offer it’s a great time to join us.”
BGL Group has more than 8.5 million customers and operates its customer service division in Sunderland and Wakefield as well as Peterborough, employing 1,300 people.
Last week, the BGL Group, which has revenues of £585 million and £126 million profits, announced a £675 million investment from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
