The city’s most wanted
An appeal to trace Peterborough’s ‘most wanted’ has been launched by police in the city.
Pictures of five of the most wanted men in the city have been released by detectives looking to bring criminals to justice.
Some of the men have been on the run for seven years, while others have been missing for less than 12 months but officers are keen to speak to all of them.
The first suspect officers want to speak to is David Di- as, who is wanted in connection with an assault on August 5, 2011.
Police said Dias, aged between 25 and 30, is suspected of assaulting a man in Midgate, Peterborough, causing injuries amounting to grievous bodily harm.
Dias is described as being a white European man, of medium build, with long brown hair.
The second offence took place on September 24, 2011. It is alleged Jiri Bagjer assaulted another man while at a party in Hawthorn Road, Peterborough, causing injuries amounting to grievous bodily harm.
Bagjer is described as aged 25 to 30, approximately 5’6”, of a slim build, with short black hair.
Mohammed Raqeev is wanted after threatening a nine year-old boy with large kitchen knife when he entered a house in Taverners Road and stole food from a fridge. The offence is said to have taken place on June 2, 2017.
Raqeev is described as being approximately six foot, of medium build with short black hair, and aged in his 40s.
The fourth man in Peterborough’s most wanted is Ioan Sofronea.
It is alleged that on October 11, 2017 Sofronea assaulted a woman in Gladstone Street, Peterborough, amounting to actual bodily harm.
Sofronea is described as a white European man, approximately 5’ 10”, of medium build, with short brown hair. He is aged between 25 and 30 years old.
The final suspect is Geldjis Borici.
Police want to trace Borici in connection with a conspiracy to supply class A drugs, predominantly cocaine. Eight other people have been convicted in connection with the investigation and are awaiting sentencing.
Borici is aged 20 to 25 years and is described as approximately 5’ 10” in height, of large build and of white European appearance with brown short cropped hair. Geldjis is known to wear shorts and Lacoste branded sportswear.
Police have also released details of a man they want to trace after an assault in Wisbech.
Zydrunas Kamsiukas is said to have carried out the attack in Prince Street, Wisbech on February 21, 2012.
Kamsiukas is described as a Lithuanian man, approximately 5’10”, of slim build, with short brown hair and aged between 20 and 25.
