Vision to make city ‘leading world place’
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough authority announces plan for city
A vision for Peterborough to become a “leading place in the world to live” by 2030 has been revealed.
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority - which is headed by metro mayor James Palmer - also wants the region to become the UK’s “capital of innovation and productivity.”
In its Cambridgeshire & Peterborough 2030 Ambition the combined authority highlights that it wants the area to become “the leading place in the world to live, learn and work.”
There are five core ambitions behind this. They are:

A workforce for the modern

A high quality sustainable

Healthy, thriving and prosperous
• communities
Becoming the UK’s capital

of innovation and productivity.
To kickstart this vision the authority is proposing to spend £40,000 to launch the project and fund a programme of engagement.
