Stanground Academy is celebratin­g the fantastic GCSE results of its students. There were more top grades than ever before and big improvemen­ts across English, mathematic­s and science. One student who performed phenomenal­ly well was Taylor Bi who achieved a grade 9 (the top grade awarded) in English language, English literature, mathematic­s, biology, chemistry, physics, French and geography. Also achieving very strong grades were: Charlotte Loucas who secured four Grade 9s and two Grade 8s; Elita Atwere who secured 3 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and one A*, and Rory File who secured two Grade 9s and four Grade 8s. “Our students and teachers have worked incredibly hard and deserve the fantastic success these results represent” said George Lewis, principal of Stanground Academy. “The new reformed GCSEs in so many subjects are tougher than ever before, but our students have risen to the challenge. Their determinat­ion and resilience has really shone through.”

Yvonne Bowen, chair of the Academy Advisory Council, added: “I am very proud of the achievemen­ts of our students and wish them the very best of luck in their next steps, whether that is at Stanground Academy Sixth Form, starting an apprentice­ship or studying somewhere else. They have all been really well supported by their teachers and deserve this rich success.”
