Olympic legend Dame Mary Peters opens retirement complex
Peterborough retirees were joined by Olympic sporting legend , Dame Mary Peters CH DBE RNR, earlier this week to mark the official opening of McCarthy and Stone’s new Cranberry Court Retirement living development on Kempley Close,
Dame Mary delivered a rousing talk on her sporting past after performing a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony. Dame Mary said: “I was delighted to be invited to Peterborough for the opening of Cranberry Court. It was an absolute pleasure to be able to chat to homeowners there, reminisce about the good old days and share my gold medal with them. I was so inspired by some of their stories and I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the ribbon-cutting and opening celebrations of what is truly a remarkable development.”
Retirees and their families were led on first-look tours of the low maintenance apartments and luxurious social spaces of the specially designed over -60s development.
