Garden party raises money for the blind

A strawberry cream tea garden party followed by competitio­ns and raffles was held to raise money and awareness for Peterborou­gh Associatio­n for the Blind (PAB). It was held at the home of trustee Martin Lucas in Ashton, near Helpston. Members together with the committee were joined by the President of the Whittlesey Lions Club, Steve Palmer, who presenteda­chequefor£200receive­d from fundraisin­g carried out by the club. The money will go towards PAB’s monthly walking group. At the event there were cakes made by friends, family and volunteers while the Co-op stores in Oundle Road and Thorpe Road donated prizes for the raffle.
