An air transport communications specialist has welcomed the company’s founder to its offices in Market Deeping. Staff at Park Air Systems, in Northfields, greeted its founder, Fred Parker (88) who created the company 52 years ago. He left 34 years ago.Mr Parker was always an enthusiastic radio ham and also held a private pilot’s licence. It was this combination that made him aware of the need to improve communications to and from the cockpit. From this Park Air Electronics was created in 1966. Within a few years, the company was selling ground-to-air radio equipment to the biggest airlines and regional airfields. Danny Milligan, Park Air managing director, said: “We get a lot of important visitors but what a pleasure to hear at first-hand how Park Air was conceived and to spend time with a true entrepreneur. “His creativity and business acumen set the company on its journey.”
