Hundreds of publicans and bar staff turn out for brewery’s catch-up

-

About 300 publicans and bar staff took the chance to enjoy the view from the other side of the counter when Peterborough brewery Oakham Ales hosted its annual Oakademy Members Day. The brewery, based in Maxwell Road, hosts the event for its flagship outlets across the country. It allows publicans to catch-up and the brewery to get to know its clients better.

Brewery managing director Adrian Posnett said: “Customer service and the personal touch are central to how we run our business.

“We put great emphasis on making sure our customers feel like they have a personal relationship with our staff, not just as product suppliers, so this is a very important opportunity for everyone to get together to relax and have a good time.” Among those who attended at the Brewery Tap, in Peterborough, was Jon Blyth, landlord of a Nottingham pub which was the first to join its Oakademy, which has 375 members.
