Panto auditions

Peterborough’s leading theatres are on the lookout for young stars to appear in their pantos this Christmas season. Whether your child has never performed but has a dramatic personality, or if they’ve had years of experience; auditions are open to everyone.

This year The Cresset is showcasing Robin Hood: bringing daring adventures to life.

The panto runs from December 8- December 30. They’re on the lookout for passionate youngsters to star alongside an all-star professional cast.

The Cresset boasts a new director and West End choreographer. Children ranging from ages 9-16 are encouraged to audition; the only requirements are that they have an enthusiasm and passion for performance. Open auditions begin this Sunday starting at 11.30am for juniors aged 9-11 at The Cresset, with roles up for grabs like young Robin and young Marion and the Merry Men. At the Key Theatre the following weekend begins auditions for Peter Pan. Vivacity are searching for three teams of 12 children to sprinkle some pixie dust on their panto which runs from December 6 to January 9.

Young people aged 10-18 are invited to audition at the Key Theatre on Sunday, September 10. Auditions last around two hours . For children aged 10-12 auditions begin at 11am and ages 13-18 start at 2pm. No previous experience is necessary and selections are made solely on the audition on the day. If your child is successful they will appear in 20 shows. Many of the showmen and women starring alongside your children have an array of national touring and West End experience. Audition forms can be picked up from the Key Theatre or downloaded online from vivacity.org/ audition.

For both sets of auditions, children are advised to wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear and be able to commit to the full run and rehearsal period.
