The group managed to edge out 2nd Nene Scouts who were worthy runners-up, while third position was secured by Club 73 Choir.

Peterborough Northern Star (PNS) Girls currently operate teams at the U13s, U14s and U15s age groupd.

The club delivers extended training sessions aimed at building more strength, stamina and dietary regimes - all of which are achieved through boot camps, gym and boxing classes, over and above the standard football training.

PNS Girls will use the funds to buy new kits both for match day and training, making all participants feel like they ‘belong’ to a team. In addition, the money will be spent on other apparatus, such as balls, cones, parachutes, water bottles, and bags; designed to offer further development in a fun environment.

Vince Smith, Manager of Peterborough Northern Star Girls U15s said: “This award will help us to further establish ourselves, encouraging teenage girls from all backgrounds, whether they are experienced players or looking to take up football for the first time, to join the Peterborough Northern Star Ladies FC.’’
