The next best thing to Iron Maiden... Hi On Maiden

-

The Met Lounge starts its Autumn run of tribute band shows with a return appearance from the UK’s Number One tribute to rock metal gods Iron Maiden with Hi On Maiden coming back to the club on Friday, September 14.

The band have appeared at the venue several times over the past six years, but still remain one of the most popular tribute bands to play The Met.

This summer the real Iron Maiden played a series of six shows around the

UK to over 100,000 people. If they all turn up at the 200 capacity Met Lounge on the night then it could be interesting!

However, Met owner Steve Jason is offering the old Maiden fans the chance of grabbing £10 worth of free beer at the gig if they’re a concert ticket collector. It’s just over 30 years and 1 month since the original Iron Maiden made their first headline appearance at the Monsters Of Rock Festival held at Donington Park Nottinghamshire (August 20th 1988) and The Met is offering free drinks to anyone attending on the night who can produce the original ticket for the festival to reception when they arrive.

“The 1988 festival set the attendancerecordfortheevent,” said Steve. “Over 109,000 people on the day. In those days I used to arrange coaches to concerts and we took over 40 coaches from East Anglia to the event, including four coaches, or 200 people from Peterborough alone. Maybe there are some fans that went on the coaches still in the area with their ticket.”

You may not be catching the real Maiden on their UK tour this summer but nothing quite beats singing your heart out to tracks such as ‘Run to the Hills,’ ‘ Fear of the Dark,’ ‘Aces High,’ ‘666 The Number of the Beast’ etc in a small club after a few Iron Maiden Trooper beers.

Support comes from highly rated Corby based metal outfit Reaper, and tickets are £9 from www.skiddle.com or www.seetickets.com. Doors open at 7.45pm.
