Volunteers are spectacular
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again (hopefully) ... the volunteers who organise the Firework Fiesta all deserve a gong. I’ve seen first hand in the past the sheer volume of tasks and issues that need to be tackled in organising this event. The Rotary Club of Peterborough Minster and the Round Table Club of Peterborough take on this task with every single one of them giving their time and efforts free of charge. The event raises money for charity but just as importantly ensures Peterborough has a display to be proud of at a time when big public firework shows are in decline. They deserve all our thanks and I hope they are able to relax a bit this week.
