New club records for Deepings duo

-

Louis Metselaar and Holly Leggott both broke Deepings Swimming Club records at the Midlands Winter Short Course Championships at the Harvey Hadden pool in Nottingham last weekend.

Metselaar broke the club’s long-standing 16yrs age group 50m breaststroke record set in 2001 by Karl Reynolds, with a time of 30.90 when finishing ninth overall.

Leggott’s time of 31.40 in the 50m backstroke broke her own club record.

Four other Deepings swimmers - Jake Jungmann, Bethany Eagle-Brown, Tom Neal and Tom Adams - had also qualified for the championships and Neal came closest to winning a medal when placing fourth in the 50m backstroke. He also made the 100m backstroke final, coming sixth.
