Whittlesey are lying in wait for the table-toppers

-

Runaway Peterborough Premier Division leaders Moulton Harrox will find their unbeaten record under serious threat on Saturday.

Harrox are at Whittlesey Athletic, a club who are traditionally strong at their Feldale Field base.

But Harrox have seen off all-comers so far and travel with the confidence of a team with 14 wins from 15 matches and a 10-point cushion at the top.

Harrox and Whittlesey both made county cup progress against Premier Division rivals last weekend with Harrox requiring extra time to see off Sutton Bridge United 4-1 in the Lincs Junior Cup and two Jack Carter goals helping Whittlesey to a 3-1 win over Tydd in the Cambs Cup.

Second-placed Netherton host third-placed Holbeach Reserves in the other big game of the day.

Netherton were disappointed with their 2-2 draw at ICA Sports last weekend even though they fought back from 2-0 down to equalise in the final minute through Ritchie Baines.

Tom Randall also scored for the reigning champions with Joe Dobson on target twice for ICA.

Holbeach beat Peterborough Sports Development 2-1 last weekend in a fiesty game which saw Sports player Ethan Atkins sent off.

Fourth-placed Sports are at Leverington on Saturday when fifth-placed Thorney host bottom club Peterborough Polonia.

Thorney secured a cracking 3-0 Cambs Cup win against Great Shelford last Saturday thanks to goals from Dan Fountain, Ondre Odain and John Yambasu. Gerard Evans was however sent off in a game that ended 10-a-side.
