RE: Former Peterborough Liberal Democrat councillors join council’s Labour group: Are they in it for their own career or do they actually have firm political views in which they’ve spent time contemplating, to understand and then adopt? (Or is that asking for too much?) @drhannan Anyone in office that ‘jumps ship’ should resign and go back to the people to seek re-election. If Cllr’s Fower & Davidson believe in themselves and truly respect democracy and the decision of the ward residents they represent, they would resign and force a by-election @cllrchrisharper Churchill switched parties... @kellio79 Party alignment shouldn’t even exist at local council level, it all seems very egocentric @martin4sat Just looking out for their career and status. If they believed in their parties polices they would not consider changing.
