A new Peter­bor­ough popup shop could solve some of your Christ­mas gift dilem­mas and give you the chance to come up with some­thing wild and won­der­ful!

Un­til Jan­uary 12 the Wildlife Trust BCN is tak­ing over a re­tail unit in West­gate Ar­cade which will be stocked with wildlife-themed mer­chan­dise – ev­ery­thing from bird and bat boxes, hedge­hog and in­sect homes, field guide books, 2019 cal­en­dars, Christ­mas cards, stock­ing fillers and fun wild ac­ces­sories. The Trust’s Wild Pop Up Shop will be the first ever third/vol­un­tary sec­tor shop in the Queens­gate cen­tre, and will have a fun win­dow fea­ture Homes for Wildlife, with ‘For Sale’ boards for des res boxes and houses on sale for all of Peter­bor­ough’s wild res­i­dents: agree­able an­nexes for prickly friends, tak­ing the first step on the rung of the bird prop­erty lad­der - ev­ery­thing that Peter­bor­ough’s in­sect, bat, bird or hedge­hog might de­sire and re­quire. Among al­ter­na­tive ways to give one so­lu­tion for a mean­ing­ful, thought­ful gift which will last through­out the year and ben­e­fit lo­cal wildlife and the en­vi­ron­ment is the gift of Wildlife Trust mem­ber­ship, this year avail­able as a Mem­ber­ship Gift Box on sale in the shop – in­side is a copy of the lat­est Lo­cal Wildlife mag­a­zine, a toy buddy bad­ger, a torch and var­i­ous other good­ies – and the re­cip­i­ent will have a year’s mem­ber­ship of the Trust.

The shop will be run by Trust staff and vol­un­teers.
