Building firm wins bakery contract

-

A building firm in Peterborough has completed the construction of a £700,000 staff centre at an international food manufacturer.

Lindum, based in Newark Road, has carried out the construction work at Lantmännen Unibake bakery in Bedford.

The work has included new changing rooms, a new canteen and office suite refurbishments.

The development is said to be in direct response to growth in the burger market and will allow the company to meet the growing demand for its frozen baked goods.

Lindum contracts manager Paddy McAuley said construction work had gone smoothly.

“Obviously, we had to ensure we didn’t interrupt production at the bakery.

“It was vital we kept in regular communication with the team at Lantmännen.

“Where possible, we used directly-employed trade operatives on site, which helps us guarantee quality of work, although we did call on some specialist subcontracts.

“We’re delighted to have a high-profile company like Lantmännen among our clients.”
