‘This is where he belongs’ says Rathbone

Panthers promoter Ged Rathbone insists Hans Andersen was an obvious signing for the city club’s SGB Premiership return . . . and reckons he will again make an ideal captain.

Andersen skippered the team to Elite League title glory back in 2006 and is a fine servant to British speedway having graced these shores in every season since 2001.

Rathbone said: “I know all about Hans’ history at Peterborough and this is where he belongs.

“It is massively important we are able to bring in a rider of his quality, experience and stature.

“He is genuinely excited about returning and I am sure he will be a huge asset to us on and off the track.

“He has been around British speedway forever and he has already been a title-winning captain for Peterborough.

“Wouldn’t it be brilliant if history were to repeat itself next season?”
