Freddie off to a flying start

A quartet of Nene Valley youngsters made their indoor debuts at Lee Valley on Saturday, meeting with considerable success.

Freddie Fraser was ranked as the nation’s number one in his age group over the 60m hurdles and 80m hurdles last year. Fraser began the new year with a bang, winning the 60m hurdles in a club record 8.12. Joe Purbrick ran 8.39 to finish second.

Will Kong made his 400m debut winning his race in 53.89 and also won the 200m with a 23.89 clocking.

Alicja Gawronski finished fifth in the 300m in an impressive 44.08.
