McCrae a runner-up

Top Peterborough middledistance pair Dan Mees and James McCrae were in action in the Sheffield British Milers’ Club indoor meeting at the weekend.

They raced in the 1500m and former Nene Valley man McCrae, now of Hallamshire Harriers, finished second in 3:53.45.

Mees, an 800m specialist, placed third in 3:54.88 .

On New Year’s Day Mees, ex-PAC but now of Newham & Essex Beagles, ran an unchallenged 1:53.37 at Lee Valley and will be heading to the Spar British Athletics Indoor Championships in February with qualification already achieved through his 1:49.84 last summer.
