Posh completed four on-loan transfers in six days in an attempt to kick-start their League One promotion push.

Forward Lee Tomlin (Cardiff City), box-to-box midfielder Kyle Dempsey (Fleetwood) and defenders Ben White (Brighton) and Daniel Lafferty (Sheffield United) have all moved to the ABAX Stadium until the end of the season.

Lafferty and White made their debuts in the FA Cup defeat at Middlesbrough last weekend.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony insists there will be no more incomings in the current January transfer window, but several players are expected to leave.

MacAnthony said: “The board has moved quickly in January to strengthen in key areas as per the manager’s requirements with a left- back, centre-back, central midfielder and attacking central midfielder acquired.

“To stay within the perameters of financial fairplay there now will be outgoings in the coming days. Thanks for your support Posh fans as we try do our best for you.”

Jermaine Anderson, who was sent back to Posh after a loan spell at Doncaster last week, left-back Colin Daniel, midfielders George Cooper and Callum Cooke, and wide player Isaaac Buckley-Ricketts could be among those to depart. Cooper, Mark O’Hara and Rhys Bennett are known to be of interest to Lincoln.

Youngsters Lewis Freestone and Morgan Penfold have already joined Southern League side Bedford on loan, while teenage striker Idris Kanu has moved to National LeaguesideBorehamWoodon loan. He scored on his debut at last Saturday.

Rookie forward Matty Stevens could also leave on loan. He has though signed a new two-and-a-half year deal with Posh. On-loan Leeds United left-back Tyler Denton is expected to stay at Posh.
