Peterborough’s BMW specialists going from strength to strength

-

Just over a year after opening a new facility in Peterborough the BMW and MINI specialists at Bartlett Automotive are celebrating going from strength to strength with their unique offering of expertise and value.

The business was established in Huntingdon a decade ago to offer BMW and MINI owners a high-quality alternative to main deal- er services and in late 2017 opened its second workshop location, in Peterborough.

Since that site opened its doors the business has grown, welcoming new customers, expanding the services it offers and welcoming back some experienced and valued former members of staff.

Operations Director Natalie Boyes-Bartlett comments: “It seems word is getting out to the marketplace that outside of the main dealer we’re the other option for specialist BMW care and maintenance, and look to save the customer time and money on their vehicle maintenance. We’re able to handle any age vehicle, and regularly see brand new vehicles for their first services.

Bartlett Automotive specialises in offering all the services and expertise you’d find at a main dealer - from MOT and servicing to fault finding and repairs - but with a more personalised service at a far better price.

Natalie comments: “We have the same specialist set up as the main dealer, and we’re able to carry out detailed diagnostics, and update electronic service books in the same way as BMW would offer.” Between them, the team at Bartlett Automotive have more than 100 years’ experience and all come from a BMW/MINI main dealer background, meaning their knowledge of the brands and models is second to none. They’ve also got fully trained staff tol ook after the new elec-models. tric The workshop has all the latest tools and diagnostic equipment and all work is carried out according to BMW’s exacting schedules and standards and

using only OEM or OEM equivalent parts, meaning the manufacturer warranty remains valid at all times.

The specialist technicians are also experts in performance upgrades and the business recently added the increasingly popular RaceChip engine tuning products alongside its offerings of PowerFlex and AC Schnitzer products for owners looking to get that little bit more style or performance from their car.

Bartlett’s unique appeal is that it can offer all these services but at a far lower cost than a main dealer thanks to lower labour and overhead costs. And with a booking period of only 2-3 days it can also offer a far speedier service than many main dealers.

Whatever the service, the family-run business puts the customer at the heart of the process, offering an individualised package where owners can be sure they won’t be charged for unnecessary work.

“We work really hard to engage with our customers and tailor our service to them,” says Natalie. “We’re here to give honest advice and opinions to meet their requirements. We also have a payment plan to help customers cover the costs of the unexpected repairs.”

It is an approach that is clearly working, with more and more owners turning to Bartlett Automotive to care for their pride and joy.

As well as welcoming more customers, Bartlett Automotive has welcomed back a familiar face with the return of original team member Bill Jennings.

Bill comes from a trackside McLaren F1 background, and brings his expertise on engine rebuilds and fault diagnosis.

Says Natalie: “We’re thrilled to have Bill back on board. With the growth we are experiencing, we’re always looking to expand our teams both in Huntingdon and Peterborough, and welcome applications from experienced BMW technicians, who may prefer a gentler pace and more relaxed working environment.”

While the focus is clearly on offering a specialist car care service, the team are also involved in the wider community, including raising muchneeded funds for charity.

Their latest effort is an epic challenge being undertaken by the company’s managing director Damian Boyes-Bartlett.

This summer he will be cycling more than 1,000 miles from London to Nice in aid of the Clic Sargent cancer charity.

Having already cycled from London to Paris and Land’s End to John o’ Groats, Damian has raised £8,500 for the charity and is hoping to raise another £5,000. Over the course of 15 days he will take part in three back-to-back events covering a route from London to Nice via Paris and Geneva, crossing the Alps twice.
