Students learn how NSPCC protects children
Health and Social Care students from Peterborough Regional College visited the NSPCC’s service centre in Fengate on Friday to see how the charity protects children from sexual abuse in the city.
Students learned about the Protect and Respect Service, which works with children and young people who may be experiencing exploitation, or who need support to learn about healthy relationships. The previous week, staff and students raised £108 for the charity by holding a cake sale and fun day. Sarah Lambley, NSPCC community fundraising manager for Peterborough, said: “We were really happy to share the vital work all our staff are doing in Peterborough with the pupils.” Young people can refer themselves to the NSPCC’s Protect and Respect service by calling 01733 207620.
