Fairer funding for our schools

Recently I received my Council Tax bill and one thing that struck me was the cut of £4.3 million in schools grants.

We have growing school numbers in Peterborough and we are not doing particularly well for some of our pupils despite all the hard work from teachers. At the last Peterborough City Council meeting I asked the Cabinet member for Education what was happening. She confirmed that we are losing hundreds of pounds per pupil in Peterborough because of central government cuts. I have called on the Conservative Councillors once again to lobby for fairer funding for Peterborough and I hope that they will now stand up for our students.
