Easter fun has already started

Rotary is already in action celebrating Easter. There are activities for people of all ages, the young and the not so young. At our Peterborough Rotary Memory Cafe (Crocus Cafe), members and their carers decorated Easter eggs in preparation for the coming celebrations. Naseem (from our local Celebrations Icing Centre) came along to show everyone how it is done and provided the dainty flowers and icing bags.

Everyone was soon busily engaged creating their own masterpiece, excellent concentration with need for hand/ eye co-ordination. There was plenty of chocolate to eat in addition to the usual selection of sausage rolls, muffins, cakes and biscuits. At the end of the morning everyone was able to take home their beautifully

decorated egg.

We are so grateful to Naseem for sharing her expertise and helping everyone, especially as she should have been busy preparing for her trip to Australia the following day. Many thanks Naseem, enjoy the wedding!

During the previous week a few members of the cafe had been interviewed for the BBC Radio Cambs breakfast show, telling the interviewer what our cafe means to them - new friendships, getting out and about, an end to loneliness.

And now for something for you to look forward to. Why not hop along to Ferry Meadows and join in the Rotary Bunny Run on Easter Monday. This fun run (organised by Peterborough Rotary Club) starts at the Information Centre at Ferry Meadows at 10.00am.

A highlight for your children during the school holidays; you can jog, walk, push the buggie or even let the dog pull you round a short three kilometre course at the edge of Overton Lake.

There will be a small Easter egg for every participant and, as chosen by the Mayor of Peterborough, prizes for the best bunny costume and Easter bonnet. The route is fully marshaled. Organisers are hoping for a wonderful spring day with loads of sunshine and blue skies.

Adult entry is £5.00, child entry just £2.00. Enter online at www.ticketsource.co.uk (a small online fee will be charged) or enter on the day under the canopy at the Cafeteria. All proceeds will be donated to local charities supported by Rotary. The event is sponsored by Guardian Surveyors and OCS.UK, Oundle Computer Services.
