A leading housebuilder has been helping to create strong foundations for a national charity.

Bellway Homes has reached a milestone in its fundraising for Cancer Research UK – hitting a total of £1 million.

Since the organisation was announced as Bellway’s nominated charity in 2016, staff across the country have worked hard to raise money for the worthy cause.

The combined efforts of Bellway’s staff means the £1 million fundraising target has been hit six months earlier than expected.

Ben Smith, regional director for Bellway Eastern Counties, said: “We are over the moon that we have been able to support Cancer Research UK for the past year, and I am so proud of everyone at Bellway who has worked hard to achieve this fantastic total.

“Cancer Research is working incredibly hard to beat cancer, and it is so important to us that we help them to continue their hard work.

“We are looking forward to supporting the charity for a third year in a row, and we hope we can continue to raise even more money for this amazing cause.”

Francesca Pearson, from Cancer Research, said: “Cancer Research UK are proud to have been in partnership with Bellway for more than two years.

“What we’ve achieved together has been incredible, and to now be celebrating raising a tremendous £1 million pounds for vital cancer research is an awesome achievement. Thanks to Bellway for its commitment to Cancer Research UK. We can’t do what we do without corporate partners and supporters such as Bellway.”
