Peterborough Regional College first team made it three wins out of three in all competitions with a 3-1 victory over Oaklands College.

In fine form, PRC1 had beaten North Herts 5-3 in the League Cup as well as winning 3-0 against Norwich City RDP and 6-3 against One Touch in the ESFA Men’s Regional League A.

PRC1 are unbeaten in their last four games, scoring 12 and conceding four.

They are currently sitting second in the league, three points behind top spot F2 Academy, after narrowly losing to them in the first game of the season.

Football academy manager Dan Bucciero said: “We are currently in great form and playing some great football.

“Going forwards we are a joy to watch at times and we have some excellent quality all over the pitch.

“This season scoring’s never been a problem – it’s the other end. We’ve been working very hard in training on our defending and the lads are improving each game.”

The college’s PRC2 team gained their first point of the season with a 2-2 draw against MK college, but are currently sitting third from bottom.

“It was a tough start losing 11-1 to F2 Academy and narrowly losing 5-3 to St Ives Development in the ESFA Men’s Regional League B,” Bucciero added.

“The second team have established themselves more throughout the season and, like the first team, they have been putting a lot of effort in training, working on their defensive side of the game.

“As a college and football academy this season it has been very promising. We have recruited some very good players and they’re willing to learn and improve which always makes the coach’s job easier.

“We are looking to continue the good form and keep improving each week so we can finish as high as possible in the league and get as far as we can in the cups.”
