Lost in Space

Netflix, streaming now

The long-suffering Robinson family are back, and if series two of this revamped saga is as good as the first, then fans are in for a treat. Inspired by the 1960s Irwin Allen saga, it sees some old faces returning for more adventures. It helps that the cast is excellent. Toby Stephens reminds us why he’s one of Blighty’s best thespians as John Robinson, and Parker Posey should add more malice as the duplicitous antagonist, Dr Smith. However, as always it’s the bond between Will Robinson and his robot which provides the emotional heart of the drama. In season two, the hero’s ship, Jupiter 2, is stranded on a mysterious ocean planet without their beloved droid. The family must work together, alongside Smith and the ever-charming Don West, to make it back to the Resolute and reunite with the other colonists.
